Leah Rubenstein

Leah has been a registered nurse for over thirty years. Throughout her career she has worked in the operating room at Stamford Hospital as well as in Labor and Delivery at Greenwich Hospital. She brings many years of medical knowledge and extensive experience in end-of-life issues to the Black Plum Center.

In 1975, Leah received a minor in Art from Alfred University where she studied pottery under Joan Tweedy. After graduating she continued studying making clay vessels with renowned artist Val Cushing who became her dear friend and mentor.

In 2010, Leah retired to Woodstock in order to pursue her love of clay as a path toward healing others. She recognizes the importance of art as a way to balance one’s busy life, and enjoys creating spiritual vessels.
