Since 2005, the RMO has been providing Resources, Mentoring and Opportunities to people being released from prison back into Lancaster County, to ensure they get the help they need to lead productive, crime-free lives.
The RMO provides these services to formerly incarcerated people for several reasons.
First, we believe individuals can be restored to wholeness, become productive citizens and remain crime-free.
Second, we believe that our community is safer when returning citizens are supported and cared for during their re-entry. It does no one any good when formerly incarcerated men and women re-enter society without proper housing, mental health medication or job opportunities!
We also provide these services and programs because we know they work: 85% of our RMO intensive program clients remain crime-free after completing the program.
Over our eleven-year history of operating in Lancaster County, the RMO has been recognized as a model collaborative reentry initiative by the PA Department of Corrections, PA Board of Probation & Parole, PA Commission on Crime & Delinquency, and the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of PA.
