Kyoto University Research Center, San Diego (KURC-SD)

Kyoto University is the second national university in Japan, founded in 1897. Kyoto University has many world-class scientists such as recent Nobel laureates Prof. Shinya Yamanaka (for the discovery of iPSC factors) and Prof. Tasuku Honjo (for the discovery of a novel cancer Immunotherapy target PD-L1). 

 Kyoto University launched its first oversea research centers in 2018. KURC-SD (Kyoto University Research Center, San Diego) is the first oversea wet laboratory in the Center for Novel Therapeutics building (CNT) at UCSD campus, located between Moores Cancer Center (MCC) and La Jolla Institute for Immunology (LJI). 

 Our goal is to expand international collaboration with UCSD and other institutes in the San Diego region both in research and education, connect people in Japan and the U.S. to develop world-leading science for a better future.
