King County DNRP SWD Project Management Training

Our Project Management training series is organized around the methodologies and techniques based on the text, A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)-Sixth Edition by the Project Management Institute (PMI)®. There are three levels of training.

Fundamentals of Project Management - Introductory 1-day training that covers the ten project management knowledge areas and five process groups as defined in the PMBOK® Guide.

Applied Project Management - Intermediate 3-day training that will focus on key project management processes to help prepare project managers to effectively manage projects by applying standardized project management tools and techniques.

Advanced Project Management - Advanced 5-day training where real life projects and case studies are used to explain how project management processes can be applied to projects and affect project outcomes. Supplemental practice quizzes are provided to help participants prepare for the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification examination. Upon successful completion of this training, participants will have earned certification for 35 hours of project management education (PDUs), which they can apply towards their PMP® exam requirements.

These three levels of training do not proceed one another but it is recommended to take either the introductory or immediate training, if you do not have project management experience or are unfamiliar with the methodologies as described in the PMBOK®, before taking the advanced training.

"PMI", "PMBOK" and "PMP" are registered marks of Project Management Institute, Inc.
