Kearsten Lyon

Kearsten is the founder and CEO of Toronto Movement Therapy, a boutique private Movement Therapy studio in Toronto's east end.  She opened her practice in 2016 after working for nearly 8 years as a Physiotherapy (PT) and Chiropractic (DC) Assistant at an extended health care clinic in Toronto.  At the clinic she educated and took patients through their individual exercise prescriptions as given to them by their PT or DC and directed clients through the active rehabilitation component of their recovery.


Now at Toronto Movement Therapy she uses various movement modalities to educate clients, mobilize and load tissue to give them optimal function, control and performance from their bodies.  She often works as a part of a health care team working on clients with their other practitioners such as Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Physiatrists, Medical Doctors, Naturopathic Doctors, Sports Medicine Specialists, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Neurologists, Craniosacral Therapists, Rolfers, Trauma Therapists, Psychotherapists, PsychiatristsPedorthotists, Podiatrists and Chiropodists.


Kearsten is a seasoned Pilates instructor and is certified in mat, all apparatus and therapeutic pilates with The Pilates Process and soon to be certified with Polestar Pilates as well.  She is also a Franklin Method Educator Level 1, Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) and a Member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association as a PTA.  


Kearsten is the Oov Teacher Trainer for Ontario, chosen by Amy Broekemeier DPT and head Teacher Trainer for the Oov in North America and Daniel Vladeta Osteopath, Neuroscientist and the inventor of the Oov.  She has taken 4 Oov trainings in the last 18 months to bring the device successfully into the movement and manual therapy world in her territory and will continue to immerse herself in Oov training worldwide.
