Joseph Crane has a diverse background in Philosophy, Psychotherapy, Astrology, and Buddhist Meditation. He enjoys exploring the connections between classical and modern philosophical/ethical systems, and he uses those connections to help us find different ways to think about important life questions and problems.

 

In addition to over 20 years as a psychotherapist, Joseph has been practicing and teaching Buddhist meditation over 25 years. He is also an astrology consultant, teacher, and author. In his latest book, Joseph was able to play with the the differences and similarities between classical, medieval, and modern views of God, ethics, and spiritual development. This book, Between Fortune and Providence: Astrology and the Universe in Dante's Divine Comedy, was published in 2012.

 

Joseph earned an MA in Counseling and Psychotherapy from Lesley University in 1995 and a BA in Philosophy from Brandeis University in 1976. In addition to his other work, Joseph is also currently teaching "Character, Calling, & Karma" for the Kepler Cerificate Program. This course explores the history and application of Soul.
