James Ward

James Ward researches criminals for HPD's homicide investigators, analyzes criminal statistics, and advises higher level officials on crime problems in order to formulate action plans.  Recent research and analysis has assisted in identifying a serial rapist involved in 15 investigations; persuading skeptical District Attorneys to accept murder charges based on geospatial link analysis uncovered between the murder victim and suspect; and locating a murder suspect on the run.   James earned his Bachelor of Arts in Intelligence Studies with honors from American Military University.  Prior to undergraduate school, he worked as a Criminal Intelligence Analyst with the Washington State Fusion Center and before that as a military intelligence analyst with the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command.  James also received his Master’s Certificate in IT Project Management from Villanova University, a Masters Certification as a Microsoft Applications Specialist, and an A.A.S. in Applications Communication Technology from the U.S. Air Force.  


James is an accredit instructor though TxDPS (Private Security Bureau license no. Y07299601) and Texas Commission on Law Enforcement so participants can obtain dual credit.
