Homeless Animals' Lifeline Organization (H.A.L.O.)

H.A.L.O. is an all volunteer 501(c)3 animal rescue organization that re-homes cats and dogs. Animals are lovingly cared for in volunteers’ homes as well as at the H.A.L.O. House in Oakley, Ca.

H.A.L.O. works with local communities to provide information and education about pet care and rescue. We have a large group of volunteers of all ages and we work with schools to educate local youth about the importance of pets in our lives and the humane treatment of animals both in and out of our homes.

Our Mission

We work to improve the lives of companion animals in East Contra Costa County through educational workshops, adoptions and special events, and collaboration with other community groups.

Our Vision

• Shelters will no longer find it necessary to euthanize healthy, tame, adoptable dogs and cats.

* Every companion animal will have a loving home.

* Pet abandonment and "dumping" will cease.

* All pet owners will have their dogs and cats spayed or neutered.

* The number of feral cats will reduce significantly, and those that are present will all be neutered and cared for for the remainder of their lives.

* Every child will be taught that animals have value; that that they are feeling, living beings who enhance our existence on this earth.
