Manny Ruiz (@Papiblogger) Creative Director/Organizer

Manny is chairman of Hispanicize and co-founder of the Latina Mom Bloggers network as well as Hispanicize 2012, the largest annual event gathering marketers, bloggers and social media influencers. A media trailblazer and award-winning PR professional, Manny is also the co-founder of the Hispanic PR Blog, the leading marketing trade journal focused on Hispanic public relations and the “daddy-in-chief” of the bilingual parenting web site PapiBlogger.com.

Prior to launching these properties, Manny was President of Multicultural Markets and Hispanic PR Wire for PR Newswire. Prior to PR Newswire’s acquisition of Hispanic PR Wire, Hispanic Digital Network and LatinClips in 2008, companies he founded, Ruiz was Chairman and CEO of HispaniMark, the parent company of these three businesses.
Mike Valdés-Fauli, Co-Chair
Mike Valdés-Fauli is President of The Jeffrey Group, one of the country’s largest Latin communications firms. At 32 years old, he runs an agency with over 100 employees across five offices in four countries. The agency currently works with some of the world’s largest companies and best-known brands, including American Airlines, Diageo, Johnnie Walker, Jose Cuervo, Fox Hispanic Media, T-Mobile, UnitedHealth Group and Volkswagen. Mike is an accomplished writer and media commentator, having been featured in a wide array of outlets. PRWeek also recognized him as one of the industry’s “40 Stars Under 40.”
Jorge A. Plasencia, Co-Chair
Jorge is chairman and CEO of República, one of America’s fastest growing advertising, digital and communications companies. Jorge cofounded República in 2006 as a small start-up that has rapidly emerged as an industry player with a growing staff in several cities and an illustrious clientele. República has won more than 30 ADDY Awards in the last two years alone, and has been ranked by Advertising Age as one of the “Top U.S. Agencies from All Disciplines” and one of the “Top 50 Hispanic Agencies.” Jorge serves on various national boards: vice chairman of the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S.; he’s a founding board member and serves on the advisory council of the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI); and is chairman of the Cuban-American National Council (CNC).
Angela Sustaita-Ruiz (@Texinmiami) Co-Founder/Organizer

Angela is co-publisher of the Hispanic PR Blog, and an award-winning, public relations professional with more than 12 years of experience in general market and Hispanic public relations and marketing, strategic consulting and event management. Angela oversees strategy for Hispanicize and Latina Mom Bloggers projects, and handles operations for the company and its various subsidiaries.

As a senior public relations consultant, Angela has directed national marketing communications initiatives for numerous brands including: The American Heart Association’s Go Red Por Tu Corazón, Unilever, Burger King, Shell Oil, AstraZeneca, and the Texas Beef Council. Prior to consulting, Angela worked in Edelman Multicultural’s New York and Austin offices, where she continuously delivered success for clients such as Kraft Foods, Hershey’s, Starbuck’s, Pfizer, Schering-Plough, and the New York International Latino Film Festival.

Katherine Johnson (@Katjohn) Organizer/Partner

Katherine assists in the planning, execution and delivery of client projects for Hispanicize.

Prior to joining Hispanicize, Katherine held positions with Fleishman-Hillard as an account executive, and at Newlink Group as a producer for the PBS show, Nightly Business Report. Katherine’s passion for community building, storytelling and the Latino culture drives her innovative approach to social networking both on and offline.

Lexi Terrero (@Lxterrero) Finance Director/Co-Founder/Organizer

Lexi oversees finance, legal, and operations for Hispanicize and its subsidiaries. She works closely with the management team to identify company investment opportunities.

Prior to partnering with Hispanicize, Lexi worked in the investor relations industry focusing on international companies in the public and private sector to implement corporate growth strategies through management advisory, strategic planning, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions. During this time she facilitated the 2007 acquisition of HispaniMark, LLC, the holding company of Hispanic PR Wire and Hispanic Digital Network, by United Business Media for $5.5 million.
