Located in the Grand Summit Hotel in Summit, NJ the HAT Tavern is a Gastropub that offers an expansive menu that specializes in decadent burgers, tapas, salads and hearty comfort foods with “Jersey Fresh” ingredients sourced from local farms and produce companies.

Focused on the perfect “La Frieda” blend hamburger of brisket and short rib, sourced from Creekstone Farms in Kentucky, naturally raised and hormone free, graded USDA Prime Choice. The enticing menu includes Jersey fries, a decadent dessert selection, a super affordable children’s menu and a fantastic Sunday Brunch buffet. It also offers an extensive beverage selection with 20 fine craft beers on Tap from all over the world, a fine mixology based cocktail menu concentrating on fresh ingredients as well as wines from the most select vineyards.

The casual dining atmosphere of the tavern includes 10 flat screen TVs with coverage of nearly every sporting event, a great outdoor patio dining space, tavern style lighting and local artist’s creations on the walls, available for purchase.

The HAT acronym which stands for Hamburger, Ales & Tapas captures the rich history of the hotel as the original owner’s name HATT was immortalized in brick on the front façade of the hotel. The subsequent owner, real estate magnate, Henry A. Taylor, chopped out one of the T’s to leave his initials – still noticeable today.
