With 48 surgeons, University Surgical Associates provides state of the art care to Southern New England and have influenced care of national and international referrals.

Our surgeons are recognized for their experience in highly specialized areas of surgery, across all ages, meeting the needs of fetal patients with congenital anomalies as well as the special needs of geriatric patients and those requiring palliative care.

All surgeons are on the teaching staff of Alpert Medical School of Brown University and are Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Surgery.
University Surgical Associates offers consultative, diagnostic and therapeutic services to both outpatient and inpatients for all surgical disorders from pediatric surgery through adult specialized services. We offer the latest cutting edge surgical techniques including minimally invasive surgery.
University Surgical Associates encompasses a variety of specialties that include, bariatric, colorectal, general, hepatobiliary, pediatric, surgical oncology, thoracic, transplant surgery and vascular surgery.

Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMS-C) Program
The mission of the EMSC program is to reduce child and youth mortality and morbidity sustained due to severe illness or trauma.
The EMSC Program aims to ensure that state of the art emergency medical care for the ill and injured child or adolescent; pediatric service is well integrated into an emergency medical service system backed by optimal resources; and that entire spectrum of emergency services, including primary prevention of illness and injury, acute care, and rehabilitation, is provided to children and adolescents as well as adults, no matter where they live, attend school or travel.

The EMSC program has in past and present, funded and supported pediatric emergency care improvement initiatives/projects in every State and U.S. Territory to expand and improve emergency care for children who need treatment for life threatening illnesses or injuries.
