Having previously worked for another Motion Picture Caterer, Jim and Joe started Hanna Brothers Film & Event Catering in 1997. They purchased some older equipment from a competitor and went to work mostly as the lowest cost provider, because that was the only way anyone would hire someone with an unproven track record. They worked on the trucks together, completing every project start to finish and began to develop their reputation and many relationships in the film industry. They joke about how the equipment, when they started, was so "rough" that they considered it a successful day if they could get to the shooting location without having to have the catering truck towed there. Through their hard work, and can-do attitude they've come a long way since those days. In 2004, they moved their main office to Slidell, LA (just outside of New Orleans) to service the growing film industry in Louisiana and the Southeastern United States. They designed and built a commissary which they operate out of now. From their meager beginnings with outdated hand-me-down equipment to a new custom facility, with 8 mobile kitchens and support equipment & personnel to man them, they are proud of what they've been able to accomplish up to this point, and excited about the future of the company.
