HackPittsburgh is Pittsburgh's first hackerspace, providing a community-oriented workshop space where people can share skills and tools to pursue a wide range of creative, technology-infused projects. Our focus is on collaboration, education, and community outreach.

Located in Pittsburgh's Uptown neighborhood, the HackPittsburgh Shop offers a wide range of machine and hand tools, welding equipment, computer parts, electronics and robotics gear, and sewing and craft tools. Membership is only $30/month and includes free access to the Shop, along with discounted classes.

HackPittsburgh's classes are open to members and the public. On Friday evenings, the Shop is open to the public for free events. These include informal talks and demos (recent topics have included bronze casting, coffee brewing techniques, DIY solar power, the invention of the telephone, and 3D scanning using the Xbox Kinect), as well as gaming and movie nights.

HackPittsburgh is also a proud co-sponsor of Pittsburgh Mini-Maker Faire, happening on Saturday, September 22, 2012 on Pittsburgh's North Side. Please see our website for more details.
