GW Bell

GW is currently serving as the Mustang District (Longhorn Council, BSA) Training Chairman.  For the 3 1/2 years prior, he served as the Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner and Asst Council Commissioner for Cub Scout Roundtables.

He has been involved in Scouting, as an adult leader, since 2004.  GW strongly believes that QUALITY Training is the cornerstone to providing the best possible program for our youth.  All aspects of Scouting, whether it is program, popcorn sales, Friends of Scouting, camping, high-adventure, etc., will be positively influenced when the leadership is trained, and trained properly.  He believe that leaders can benefit from all trainings, even if it is not directly related to the Scouting position they hold at the moment.

A little about his background...he is a "training junkie".  He has held most leadership positions in Cub Scouting and is currently an ASM for a local troop.  GW is also on the Longhorn Council Training Committee/Team.

He is Wood Badge trained (SR746 - Buffalo Patrol), plus have served as a staffer on five other courses.  He is slated to be a WB Course Director in the fall of 2015.

GW and his family have attended the Philmont Training Center at least once a year for the past seven years.  This is a phenominal experience for all involved, and comes highly recommended.

He also a Merit Badge Counselor (Photography) and hold about three sessions a year at the National Scouting Museum in Irving, TX.

Thanks for taking a little time out of your day, to look over our upcoming training events!
