GREENSPACENYC | CIVIC ART LAB

GREENSPACENYC is a non-profit collaborative that develops and curates free educational programming, hands-on workshops, and public design projects that encourage dialogue, enliven public spaces, and promote the future of more equitable and sustainable cities.

GreenspaceNYC kicks off our 5th annual Civic Art Lab, hosting our first event in February 2019. This year's theme is "Closing the Loop + Inhabiting the Loop", which examines the intersection of sustainability, design, and art in a circular economy and closed-loop practices.

This past year we hosted our 4th lab. Civic Art Lab 2018 was our fourth pop-up gallery and storefront project. The pop-up was held at Chinatown Soup. Our 3-day lab addressed the concept of sustainable futures.

Co-Directors / GREENSPACENYC + Civic Art Lab: Laura Scherling, Jeff Kasper
Sponsors: Material for the Arts (NYC Office of Cultural Affairs), ORLI+, Chinatown Soup
