Greater Mid-City Business Association

The GMCBA was started to ensure the needs and opinions of Mid City business owners were represented at the City and State level. We have monthly meetings at member businesses that feature informative speakers. We advise new and current businesses how best to navigate City permit requirements.

Mid-City New Orleans is a vibrant, growing part of a great city. Offering a wonderful place to live, full of world class restaurants, groceries, shopping, and great music venues. Located in the heart of New Orleans, this is the place where the largest Mardi Gras parade begins and the 8th largest city park in the US is located.
With so much to do, in such a walkable neighborhood, our organization is a source for information on those of us that live, work and play in this great neighborhood called Mid-City.

Our goals are but not limited to:

  • One voice for businesses and business interests in the Mid-City, with NOPD, CityHall and the community
  • Create a sense of community among the businesses of Mid-City; that we live in a wonderful neighborhood and that by working as a group we can achieve more than working alone.
  • Networking among members and supporting/promoting/referring each other’sbusinesses
  • Identify and advocate with new businesses to move to Mid-City
  • Encourage occupation/renovation of blighted commercial buildings and offer development of industrial tracts into neighborhood-friendly commercial;advocate for businesses in suitable historic residential buildings
  • Promotion/advertising to both residents and tourists of NOLA regarding the businesses in Mid-City and the cultural (e.g. music; arts) attractions, history, walkability and overall appeal of Mid-City
  • Promote discounts/special offers to members of targeted groups, tourists, etc.Plan and execute special (food and cultural) events, business fairs, and other outreach events
