Gowanus Canal Community Advisory Group (CAG)

The Gowanus Canal Community Advisory Group (CAG) was formed in 2010 soon after the Gowanus Canal was designated a federal Superfund site. We are made up of over 50 representatives from the civic, environmental, business and community organizations as well as individual members from Red Hook, Gowanus, Carroll Gardens, Boerum Hill and Park Slope. The CAG provides a structured forum through General Meetings for communications betweem the EPA and the community about the Gowanus Superfund clean up. The CAG believes that the clean up of the canal presents a historic and remarkable opportunity to realize the hopes and dreams of the community for its resilient future. Contact us at
