Gilbert Historical Museum

About Gilbert Historical Museum

Built in 1913 as the Gilbert Elementry School, the Museum is the only building in Gilbert to sit on the National Register of Historic Places.

Our town’s museum has been at the heart of the Gilbert community since we opened our doors in 1982. But not only do we value the treasures of the past, we also believe in our town’s vibrant and energetic future, driven by the development of the Heritage District just a quarter mile to the north. It’s a future that we want to be a part of, one that we embrace with open arms, and one that our Board and our staff are working towards. The future of the Town of Gilbert is exciting, and so is ours…

Communities for All Ages

The Gilbert Historical Society has adopted a new programming model called Communities for All Ages (CFAA). With over 37% of Gilbert under 19 years old and almost 25% over age 50, this intergenerational approach is perfect for our community. Check back on our website and our Facebook page for details on upcoming activities and programs.
