The GFWC Spring Station Woman’s Club is a proud member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs(GFWC). We are a nonprofit organization with a mission to enhance our communities through volunteer service. GFWC unites women of all ages, interests and experiences, who want to be a member of a dynamic and committed community service organization. It is open to anyone looking for friendship, fun and fulfillment through club activities. We meet in the lower level of the Winchester Community Building (563 Maury Hill Street behind Spring Hill Elementary School) on the first Monday of each month (unless it falls on a national holiday, then it will be in an alternative location, usually a nearby restaurant) from 6:30-8:00 pm. Dues are only $36.00 per year.
Our national emphasis project is Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention, so we work closely with Center of Hope, the local women's shelter in Columbia. We also have six additional community service programs: Arts, Conservation, Education, Home Life, International Outreach and Public Issues. Some of our many local projects include the trees giveaway for Arbor Day, Apples for the Teachers during American Education Week, annual "LIving the Volunteer Spirit" Community Service Awards, Amethyst Affair fundraiser for the Center of Hope, donation of sidewalk chalk for Spring Hill Art Walk, contributions to Project Heifer, organizing monthly community CPR classes, and many more.
All prospective members are invited to attend a club meeting-we look forward to seeing you there!
