Georgetown International Arbitration Month 2016: The Multistakeholder Approach to International Arbitration


February 2nd - March 2nd 2016. Washington, DC.

GIAM is an annual conference in Washington, D.C., which joins practitioners, scholars, and students from around the world for a series of panels on emerging issues and trends facing the international arbitration community. GIAM 2016 will be an month of speaker series focusing on cutting-edge issues in commercial and investment arbitration, and other aspects of dispute resolution and trade. Owing to the ever-evolving nature of our field, this year’s GIAM will incorporate new perspectives on issues including representatives from the private sector and various governments.

The Georgetown International Arbitration Society (GIAS) is a student organization composed of both JD and LLM students of Georgetown University Law Center, dedicated to the promotion of international arbitration and dispute settlement.  GIAS was created in 2008 to facilitate discussion among students, academics and practitioners on issues concerning international arbitration.
