The Friends of the Library are community members who donate time and money to support activities such as literacy programs, special library events, professional development of library staff, and programs for special populations.
Our major fundraising project is the semi-annual book sale. Other funds received come from annual dues, memorial gifts, donations to the Friends’ Endowment Fund or special projects.
The funds are used solely for the library needs beyond those provided by the City of Chattanooga. Through the Friends' continuing volunteer efforts and financial support, the library has been able to offer the Summer Reading Program - an annual summer program for children, teens and adults promoting the importance of reading throughout the summer months.
Friends of the Library is a 501c3 - all donations are tax deductible.
