Friends of Modern and Contemporary Art (FMCA), the Detroit Institute of Art's (DIA) oldest and largest auxiliary, supports and enhances the DIA’s James Pearson Duffy Department of Contemporary Art in the following ways:

• Promoting a better understanding of modern and contemporary art
• Creating fund-raising initiatives for the purchase of important new works of art in diverse mediums.
