Eugene Collaborative | Cascadia Green Building Council

Formed in 2006, the Eugene Collaboratives mission is to generate momentum towards a sustainable built environment by facilitating education, fostering connections and celebrating our community.  The Collaborative is composed of green building professionals and advocates from the greater Eugene-Springfield area.  Eugene hosts regular lunchtime educational seminars, tours of local green buildings and quarterly evening events.  They strive for a sense of community among sustainability professionals by partnering with local businesses, trade organizations, and institutions of higher education.  The Eugene Collaborative fosters connections between those professionals and the public by making all events open to the entire community.

In 2012, the Eugene Collaborative expanded in scope to include a Living Building Challenge and an Emerging Professionals Group.  Eugene spreads awareness of and encourages adoption of, the Living Building Challenge by hosting events focused on one “Petal” of the Challenge at a time.  The Emerging Professionals Group connects students, recent graduates and professionals under the age of 30 in the green building field with established professionals, thereby fostering the green building community and helping to launch the careers of the next generation of sustainable builders and designers.
