Estes Park Lions Club
The Estes Park Lions Club was chartered in 1940. We were sponsored by the Lions Club of nearby Loveland, Colorado.
The members of our Club are men and women from various walks of life who have a common desire to help people in need.
We are best known for our sight and hearing related programs including SightFirst, the worlds largest blindness prevention program. As our primary fund raiser, the Club operated the concession stand at Stanley Park Fairgrounds for 59 years ending in 2013.
All proceeds from our events are distributed amongst our community, as well as various eye sight and hearing organizations and programs around the world.
With 46,000 clubs and 1.35 million member worldwide, Lions Club International is the world’s largest and most effective service organization. Lions was founded in 1917 by Chicago businessman Melvin Jones. The proliferation of clubs quickly crossed the globe. And at the 1925 International Convention in Cedar Point, Ohio, Hellen Keller challenged Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness."
