Enigma Maths Hub

The Enigma Maths Hub is based at Denbigh School in Milton Keynes and provides Professional Development for Mathematics Teachers across the region being part of a collaborative network of 35 Maths Hubs nationally.

The Hub supports Mathematics Teachers to actively continue to improve educational standards from Early Years Foundation Stage children through to Post 16 students. The Enigma Maths Hub region includes schools and colleges in Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire, Luton, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire.

The Enigma Maths Hub offers professional development through National Collaborative Projects and through locally designed projects. In all projects, national and local, teachers and others collaborate in a Work Group, with set membership, objectives and means of evaluating outcomes. All work is led by teachers and most of the work falls, with some overlaps, into these six categories.

The Enigma Maths Hub team are committed to helping provide excellent professional development across the region. This is supported with a close working partnership with our strategic partners which includes:

National Centre for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics (NCETM)

Open University

Northampton University

Further Maths Support Programme (FMSP)

Denbigh Teaching School Alliance

MK Teaching School Alliance

Pilgrim Learning Teaching School Alliance

We would like to hear from schools, colleges, individuals and other organisations throughout the region who would like to be involved with the work of the Hub in any capacity. This might be through contributing to our work or taking advantage of the opportunities on offer.

Enigma Maths Hub Advocates!

Communication is essential for the Enigma Maths Hub to support our professional community effectively and the Hub would like each school/college/establishment to have a ‘Maths Hub Advocate’ as the contact for our regular bulletin and course announcements. The only requirement of the Advocate will be to forward these onto their colleagues so that all mathematics teachers have access to the CPD available through the Hub. If you would like to be a ‘Maths Hub Advocate’ and receive information about courses please can you contact Lucie James at and title the email ‘Maths Hub Advocate’.
