Emerald Necklace Conservancy

The mission of the Emerald Necklace Conservancy is to restore and improve the Emerald Necklace for all.

We are a community-supported non-profit that connects people to and through parks. America's great place-maker and landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903) designed the Emerald Necklace park system in the late 19th-century to heal and link neighborhoods, from Boston's Back Bay to the north through Brookline to Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan to the south. We steward the Emerald Necklace to renew its 1,100 acres of landscape, waterways and parkways—for all who use them. Working with civic and community partners, we advocate for the Emerald Necklace and advance access, maintenance and restoration, park stewardship and education through volunteer and youth programs, and inclusive public programming. Our work strengthens healthy parks, people and policy. Learn more and support our parks as a vital resource for shared use, shared health and shared power: www.emeraldnecklace.org
