Drew & Trisha Elizarde-Miller

"If you have come to help me, you are wasting your time...but if you are coming because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together." -Lila Watson, and indigenous Australian

From the start, Drew & Trisha came together for their mutual love and interest for advocating for peace and justice in the world. Their involvement with multi-cultural and diversity organizing on their college campus led to organizing in the Portland area with the Filipino/a Filipino/a American community.

Upon moving to Portland in 2014, Drew and Trisha wanted to find themselves rooted in community. Trisha was a founding member and founding executive committee member of GABRIELA Portland, a Filipina women identified space advocating for the rights of welfare of Filipina women, children, and LGBTQ. Drew has overseen the growth of People Organizing for Philippines Solidarity (Showing up for Racial Justice work group) and International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines in the Pacific Northwest.

These grassroots community spaces are working to advance the rights and welfare of the Filipino community in the U.S., and abroad while linking their struggles with all other marginalized populations.

We hope that you join us in supporting our work for peace, as peace and justice in the world is inevitably linked with everyone's struggles.
