Dr. Qintong Hu and Professor Maria Markovich

Dr. Qintong Hu

Qintong received her B.S. in Mathematics from Qingdao University, China. She joined the University of Tennessee at Knoxville for graduate degrees and earned M.S. in Mathematics, M.S. in Mathematics Education and Ph.D. in Mathematics Education.

She has taught at Pellissippi State Community College and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga before joining Columbia College. She also has high school teaching experience. Her research interest includes curriculum analysis, teachers’ knowledge and beliefs, preservice teacher education and comparative studies.

In her spare time, Qintong enjoys cooking, jogging and traveling.

 

Professor Maria Markovich

Maria obtained her B.S. degree in Mathematics from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania, and a M.A. in Mathematics from University of South Carolina. She has taught at Columbia College for 1 year and counting.

Her area of interest in mathematics is number theory. She enjoys teaching all levels of undergraduates and leading the Math and Computing Society on campus.

Outside of academia, Maria enjoys knitting, playing piano, alto saxophone, and the guitar.
