Dr. Michael S. Jordan

Dr. Michael S. Jordan is an entrepreneur and a business educator with a diverse background and has been a serial innovator since the early days of his career. What makes Michael unique is that he is a balance between the “science” and the “practice” and is well known for his ability to translate complex concepts in a way that can be easily understood and applied (with a sense of humor). Over the years, Michael has conducted many workshops for both private and public sector organizations on business model innovation, product and service innovation, and Lean Six Sigma.

Michael has consulted with numerous companies including Intercontinental Hotels Group, Michelin, UPS Logistics Group, UPS Supply Chain Solutions, Alcoa, GM, Tennessee Economic Development, Georgia Power, CryoVac, Pfizer Pharmaceutical, US Department of Defense, Snapper, IBM, Colgate-Palmolive, John Deere, Hewlett-Packard, CR Bard, IDEXX Labs, New Holland Corporation, Toys ‘R’ Us, North Carolina State University, University of Tennessee, NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership centers, among others.

He was the CEO of General Data Corporation, the CEO of UCE Corporation, the CEO of Trade Dynamics, and most recently the CEO of NetStream Communications. Michael is currently the President of the Institute for Strategic Innovation, an organization that conducts collaborative research with companies and academics in the areas of growth and innovation, strategic process improvement, and the progressive social enterprise. ISI is developing the next generation of frameworks, methods, and tools to help companies identify and execute on opportunities that drive sustainable and profitable growth. ISI provides workshops and consulting services to help companies learn about and apply these progressive performance approaches.

Michael is also an Adjunct Professor at the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University (GSU). He is also a instructor/facilitator in the Lean Six Sigma certification program and the Certified Professional Innovator program at GSU -- Executive Education.

Michael received a Doctorate in Business from the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University; an M.B.A. from the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University; a B.S. in Organizational Psychology from the University of Georgia. Michael holds a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification from Kent State University. He has authored numerous articles and research papers on business performance strategy and has contributed to academic research in this area.
