Dr. George Walters-Sleyon

Dr. Walters is an author, speaker, and singer/songwriter. He recently completed his PhD at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom in Practical Theology, Comparative Criminal Justice/Criminalogy and Ethics. He has a Master of Divinity (MDiv) and a postgraduate Master's in Sacred Theology from Boston University in Philosophy, Theology and Social Ethics (Public Policy).

Dr. Walters is also a gospel recording artist with two albums: I Believe and Hold On You Will Survive. One of his songs, God's Been Good to Me was nominated Gospel Single of the Year in 2004. He is author of Locked Up and Locked Down: Multitude Lingers in Limbo Revision Edition: a descriptive, analytical and prescriptive analysis of the high rates of incarceration of poor and racially marginalized individuals in the United States penal system. 

Dr. Walters has performed in concerts and spoken at conferences, religious events and universities in Africa, United States and the United Kingdom. He is also a preacher in the African Methodist Episcopal denomination. Please visit his website for details:
