About our founder and Executive Director

In 1987, God gave Debbie McGee a mandate to start a Child Abuse Prevention Foundation. Ms. McGee is passionate about teaching, citing it as a fulfilling, rewarding and renewing experience. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz, in journalism. A former cooking instructor at a group home, Ms. McGee now focuses on teaching our young people basic cooking skills. With more than 40 years of successful cooking experiences, Ms. McGee serves as a mentor to future teens as well as practitioners in the culinary field. Over the years, Ms. McGee has obeyed God and has started The Delightful Cook Foundation in August 2014. The Foundation helps train abused and neglected teens 17-21 years old. She teaches them basic cooking skills, provide them with housing and give them scholarships to attend a two-year or four-year college to obtain a degree in Culinary Arts
