Early Career & Education: Williams began performing as a teenager, opening for R&B and gospel legends like Al Green, Lakeside, and Shirley Caesar. He studied jazz at San Diego State University and was mentored by notable bassists such as Marshall Hawkins and Bob Magnusson. His early career included regular gigs in San Diego and the Las Vegas strip, accompanying headliners like Chaka Khan, Angela Bofill, and Howard Hewett.
