Danielle Folkerts is a contemporary visual artist and art educator living and working in Kingston, Ontario. Her formal education includes a Visual Arts Diploma from Red Deer College, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with Distinction, from the Alberta College of Art + Design, majoring in Painting. She has attended artist residencies and workshops across the globe and is known for her colourful and textural paintings and texiles, her vibrant large-scale murals for Lululemon, and her upbeat and inspiring workshops around Canada. She's the face behind The Travelling Artisan - a resource, business, and brand focusing on art, travel and education.

When she's not in her studio painting or buried under a pile of wool, you can find her coordinating and instructing modern and innovative workshops and programs in a wide range of mediums including: acrylic painting, watercolour painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media, weaving, felting, drawing and more. She caters to all ages, abilities and skill levels, and has a wide range of experience working with schools, community centres, private group parties, military families, birthdays and bachelorettes, and arts-focused educational platforms. She has a zest for art education and creative programming, and loves providing others with valuable opportunities and experiences to explore, connect, and develop their own creativity.
