Dance With Aiwa

 

Aiwa from Kalama Polynesian Dancers

Polynesian Party Planners and the Kalama Polynesian Dance Group was founded by feature Dancer Glenda (Aiwa) B. Florez in 2007.  Glenda is a Pofessional Polynesian Dancer and instructor who has trained with many Halau (hula schools) across the country.   Most of her childhood training comes from the Ilima style of dance (Kumu Kas Nakamura) as she  started dancing at a young age (6 years old). She has danced professionally for more than 12 years at the world famous Mai- Kai Polynesian Restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale, FL (www.maikai.com)  which has been an established and well known landmark since 1956.  There she learned under the instruction of Mireille Thornton “MA” as she influenced the ancient, traditional, and modern styles of Polynesian Dance.

Glenda has currently more than 100 students that she instructs along with Professional Instructors and Dancers for Kalama Polynesian Dancers.  Her Team trains men and women of all ages the art of Polynesian Dance and Fire Performances.  She is also the Founder of Halau Kalama- A Nonprofit Organization (Halaukalama.org)

Glenda created “Polynesian Dance Aerobics” fusing Polynesian Dance and Fitness together.  All classes are at Dance Scene Studios (see classes tab).  Glenda also offers ONLINE classes that are LIVE and Recorded (http://www.powhow.com/classes/polynesian-dance-by-aiwa).  Check the classes section for dates and times.

Glenda is currently working on World Fusion Dance Instructional DVD and collaborating with International World Renowned Artists.
