Council of Yukon First Nations - Health Department
We are a non-profit society working for the First Nations of the Yukon. We have been in existence since 1973 and continue to serve the needs of First Nations within the Yukon and the MacKenzie Delta. The Council of Yukon First Nations mandate is to serve as a political advocacy organization for Yukon First Nations holding traditional territories, to protect their rights, titles and interests.
CYFN’s Health Department is focused on issues pertaining to First Nations physical and mental health. It acts as an advocate regionally and nationally, and, where appropriate, advises and assists Yukon First Nations governments to develop, implement and evaluate health and social programs in their communities. It also identifies needs and alternatives to service delivery in conjunction with the Chiefs Committee on Health, First Nations Health and Social Development Commission, the Grand Chief, and the Leadership Board.
