Cooking Matters Maine

Cooking Matters Maine, Grace, Good Shepherd Food-Bank

Share Our Strength's Cooking Matters® empowers families at risk of hunger to shop for and cook healthy, affordable, and delicious meals as part of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® campaign.  Locally in Maine, Cooking Matters partners with the Good Shepherd Food-Bank.  In 2013, Cooking Matters Maine will be offering over 100 classes in all 16 counties  of Maine, reaching over 1,000 adults and children.

Portland’s most visually distinctive restaurant, Grace,  is housed in a former church, faithfully restored in 2009 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In this dramatic, inspiring space, centered by a large, lively bar and surrounded by vaulted beams and stained glass, chef Peter Sueltenfuss serves inventive, locally sourced New American food, offering what Boston Magazine called a “divine experience.”

Since 1981, Good Shepherd Food-Bank has worked diligently to establish essential partnerships with many other concerned about ending needless hunger here in Maine.
