Citizens for Responsible Education

We’re a local, grassroots coalition of taxpayers in Newburyport, MA, advocating for schools to teach our kids HOW to think and NOT what to think and for parents to maintain the right to make decisions regarding our children’s health and well-being. We’re working to remove costly social engineering programs from the school curriculum that only serve to divide students along racial and gender lines. We look to restore a healthy, non-political educational system that allows kids to thrive socially and academically.

More specifically, Citizens for Responsible Education is opposed to the teaching, instructing, or training of any student in Public K-12 schools in the City of Newburyport, Massachusetts to adopt or believe DIVISIVE CONCEPTS.

DIVISIVE CONCEPTS include, but are not limited to, any or all of the following:

i. That one race or sex is inherently superior to another race or sex.

ii. That an individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, is inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously, or inclined to act in such ways because of his or her race or sex.

iii. That an individual should be discriminated against or receive adverse treatment solely or partly because of his or her race or sex.

iv. That members of one race or sex cannot and should not attempt to treat others without respect to race or sex.

v. That an individual’s moral character, values, privileges, status, or beliefs is necessarily determined by his or her race or sex.

vi. That an individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, bears responsibility for actions committed in the past by other members of the same race or sex.

vii. That any individual should feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress on account of his or her race or sex.

viii. That meritocracy or traits such as a hard work ethic are racist or sexist or were created by a particular race to oppress another race.

ix. That the United States is fundamentally racist or sexist.
