Cedar Hill Lions Club Charities, Inc

All proceeds from The David Milson Legacy Run will go to Cedar Hill Lions Club Charities, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation affiliated with the Cedar Hill Lions Club. Lions Clubs International has 46,000 clubs and 1.35 million members, making us the world’s largest service club organization. We’re also one of the most effective. Our members do whatever is needed to help their local communities. The Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) programs are focused in four main areas - preserving sight, supporting youth, providing disaster relief, and meeting humanitarian needs.

Cedar Hill Lions Club Charities, Inc. supports local programs such as the Cedar Hill Food Pantry, ELF & Friends, eye exams and free glasses for local children in need, scholarships, CHISD Athletics and special education programs, The Texas Lions Camp (for physically disabled, hearing/vision impaired, and diabetic children), Leader Dogs for the Blind, Lions Sight & Tissue Foundation, and other charitable activities of Lions Clubs International.

David Milson was the long-time head coach of the Cedar Hill High School basketball team, who twice took his team to the Class 5A state title game. Coach Milson succumbed to lung cancer in 2011. While David’s achievements as a basketball coach were numerous, his true legacy will be the contributions he made as a teacher, friend and family man. David’s caring and positive attitude was felt by all he came in contact with. This event is named in his honor, that his memory may live.
