Carlos Ufret

Puertorrican guitarist Carlos Ufret has played guitar for around 25 years. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the Conservatory of Music in Puerto Rico, and a Master's degree in Music from Indiana Univeristy at Bloomington, IN. Ufret has played all sorts of genres during this time, including classical guitar repertoire, Latin music genres, pop/rock and more. He has been the guitarist of Brazilian music outfit Rio Novo, pop group The Flying Club, Indiana University's Latin-American Music Ensemble, and has directed the Community Guitarists program of the Austin Classical Guitar Society. More recently he has been part of Latin music acoustic outfit Los Bohemios Perdidos (formerly known as Zafra), together with Ecuadorian singer/guitarist/songwriter Javier Jara, performing their interpretations of songs spanning genres such as tango, bossa-novas, cueca, Argentinean Zamba, Peruvian Landó, Cuban son and many, many more. Los Bohemios Perdidos has released the album 'De una', available on iTunes, CD Baby and other online retailers, and are Latino Artists-In-Residence at the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican-American Cultural Center in Austin, TX.
