Caring About The Strays (C.A.T.S.), Inc.

C.A.T.S. is a 501(c)3 charity, rescuing cats, kittens and dogs since 1995 and does not have a shelter facility.  C.A.T.S. is comprised of a diverse group of dedicated volunteers - singles, families and senior citizens, who care for the animals in their own homes, giving them lots of love and attention, carefully socializing the scared and shy, healing the sick and neglected.  When you adopt from C.A.T.S., these volunteers will provide detailed information about each pet’s personality.  This helps to ensure a perfect match for a forever home.  It also provides assurance that a knowledgeable volunteer will be able to give you guidance should you need it after adoption.

C.A.T.S. holds adoption events on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Saturdays of each month, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, at Pet Supplies Plus (across from Shop Rite), 391 Broadway, Hillsdale, NJ.  For event confirmation, additional details, pictures and videos of the cats who will be at the event, kindly visit Facebook at

C.A.T.S. Resale Shop, located at 80 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ, supports the organization. Donations of jewelry, women’s clothing, antiques, decorative items, art, household items, collectables, etc., are accepted Tuesday through Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM.  For more information about the shop, sales and latest finds, kindly visit Facebook at

C.A.T.S. can only help as many pets as they have foster homes.  Food, supplies, and medical costs are all covered, as well as support from their Foster Care Team.  Whether you are a single person, family, or senior citizen, you can become a foster.  C.A.T.S “Senior Cats for Senior Citizens, SC2” is the perfect opportunity for a senior citizen to enjoy the companionship of an older, manageable pet, without the worry of incurring high costs.

While in the care of C.A.T.S., all pets receive the best of medical care available and are fed quality, nutritious food.  Monetary donations are urgently needed to cover these costs.  If you cannot adopt or foster, please consider making a monthly commitment to help pay the costs of a particular pet.  A volunteer will help you select a pet in need and will keep you posted on their progress.  You may also help over these costs and enable them to continue their lifesaving efforts by making a donation at  Any donation, large or small will make a difference.
