Capitol Hill Renter Initiative
The Capitol Hill Renter Iniative brings together renters to advocate for affordability, social justice, and community vitality in Capitol Hill and throughout greater Seattle. We provide space, support, and expertise for tenant-focused civic engagement via education and outreach on issues affecting renters.
Renters make up 80% of the people living in the heart of Capitol Hill, but they lack a voice in important decisions about our neighborhood. As rents spiral upward and the City considers big housing and livability policies, the decisions we make now will shape the future of Capitol Hill and Seattle for many years to come. Renters’ voices need to be front and center in these decisions.
We comprise the majority of residents on Capitol Hill. This is a place to to stay up-to-date on what's happening in the neighborhood and how to take action. Join our group to engage in discussions, connect with other renters, to talk about the things that we love and the things that we'd like to change about the neighborhood. CHRI is a project of the Capitol Hill Eco District and supported by Capitol Hill Housing staff. The views expressed on this page represent the views of CHRI members and not necessarily CHH or the EcoDistrict.
