Brinda Guha is a choreographer, teacher, dancer and curator based in New York City. With a foundation in North Indian Classical Kathak Dance and additional training in Manipuri, Flamenco, Contemporary and Urban movement styles, she is the founder of #ContemporaryIndian movement, and is taking her artistic stylings to commercial and concert realms. Currently the 2018 Artist-In-Residence at Dixon Place, Brinda heads up Kalamandir Dance Company, a 501c3 non-profit dance organization committed to spreading the aesthetics and history of Indian dance, music, and culture in a Contemporary and Urban way. Brinda is currently on faculty at the rewarding Liberated Movement dance facilities, and teaches regularly for her mother's dance school, Kalamandir of NJ Dance School. She is currently performing with her collaborative rhythmic trio, Soles of Duende, featuring the rhythms and stylings of Amanda Castro (Tap), Arielle Rosales (Flamenco), and Brinda herself (Kathak), and is on the pre-production team with Andy Blankenbuehler & Stephanie Klemons for the upcoming Broadway production of "Only Gold", based on the music of Kate Nash. After completing a rewarding five years of Arts Administration experience at the world-renowned Broadway Dance Center, Brinda is ready for this next chapter filled with art, colors, dialogue, and activism.
