Brenda Rattray works Internationally as a Voice Expressive workshop leader, a performer, Composer and arranger, Poet and Choir Conductor. She plays the Trumpet, percussion and Steel Pans and is also a prolific graphic Artist.
She has an enormous talent for teaching and communicating with groups from all walks of life. She has been running workshops and refining her teaching methods for over three decades and her expansive skillful, safe, approach has allowed her to work extensively in all areas of the community including nurseries, Primary and Secondary schools, with children diagnosed with Autism and other special needs, Prisons in Australia, England and Northern Ireland, High Security Pyschiatric Hospitals, colleges, with Travellers in fields, a host of Universities including Goldsmiths, Glyndebourne, for the English National Opera, children’s homes, with the RNIB, with detainees in Yarlswood detention centre and for Orchestras including the London Philharmonic and both the BBC Concert and Symphony Orchestras.
She has brought her inspirational workshops to over 43 countries including Australia, East Africa, Finland, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Israel, Brussels, Madrid, South Africa and more recently to Italy where since 2000 she has continued to run workshops and perform.
Her song “The smile behind the eyes” published by Faber Music in 2005 has established itself in the repertoire of many choirs across Britain. Her book “Joy of Singing” was published by Faber in 2008.
