Brandon Avery

Brandon Avery spent 12 years of self-instruction in urban dance technique until he joined ClearVision Dance Team in 2006. Though he earned his B.A. in Educational Studies with a primary minor in Psychology at Knox College, he extensively explored opportunities of his Dance Studies secondary minor. Upon matriculation, Avery took his first formal dance technique course, Beginning Modern, and thereafter has been trained in numerous genres of dance (i.e. classical ballet, jazz, musical theatre, kick/pom/stunt, Afro-Caribbean dancehall, bachata, cumbia, flamenco, improvisation, contemporary, aerial fabric/sling) by artists and institutions such as Dereque Whiturs of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Yanis Marshall, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, Joel Hall Dancers, Gus Giordano Dance School, and Chicago Multicultural Dance Center.


Avery has performed for MTV2; Mahdi Theatre Company; The Shrine of Chicago, IL; Joel Hall Dancers of Chicago, IL; The Orpheum Theater of Galesburg, IL; and Tha Pope. He has choreographed works for Tha Pope and Profession Theatre & Dance Youth Academy. Currently, he teaches for Red Clay Dance, Bright Horizons Family Solutions, and “Hips & Heels by Brandon Avery”.

Brandon Avery is a native of South Holland, IL.
