Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida

We make our community stronger by matching children with caring, adult mentors who give individual guidance and support that lead to long-term success in school and in life.

Last fiscal year ending June 30, 2016, we provided mentors and support for 1,171 children through our school and community-based programs. Of the 1,171 children we served, 80% participated in the free and reduced school lunch program, 61% lived with a single parent or guardian and 21% had one or more parent incarcerated.

The impact our programs have on our youth was significant with 94% receiving no behavior referrals or suspensions, 98% maintaining or improving their school attendance and 93% being promoted to the next grade level. Our goal is for the youth we serve to graduate from high school prepared for the workplace, post-secondary opportunities and a successful life.

Each time Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida pairs a child with a role model, we start something incredible: a one-to-one relationship built on trust and friendship that can blossom into a future of unlimited potential. What you do today, changes a child’s life tomorrow.
