bcmPEACE (Brethren Community Ministries) is a grassroots 501(c)3 nonprofit faith-based organization in Harrisburg's South Allison Hill neighborhood which is comprised of the largest concentration of low-income families between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. 

Our programs include:

  • Agape-Satyagraha - Using peer mentoring to teach non-violent conflict resolution & social change leadership skills to over 50 community youth in grades 6-12.
  • Computer Classes - Bridging the "digital divide" by teaching annually over 250 youth and adults basic computer skills such as Windows & Office. bcmPEACE provides over 75 refurbished computers annually to those who complete basic computer literacy courses.
  • Emergency Food Distribution- Collaborating with the Central PA Food Bank & Harrisburg Food Ministry, bcmPEACE provides fresh produce & emergency food every Friday to over 4000 low-income families annually.
  • Pathway to Prosperity- Emergency Aid & Referral Coordination are provided to families in crisis as part of a long-term development plan.  Over 50 families every year get health insurance, utility assistance, and “prosperity” development plans.
