Barbara Harris, PhD

Dr. Harris begins her 26th year at Creighton in 2017 as the Program Director for the Social Work Program.  She has served on several community boards including Child Saving Institute, YWCA, Uta Hallee, Mammel Foundation Root-to-Fruit and Holy Name School and was a founding member of the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council. 

At the University level she has served as Director for the Center for the Study of Children's Issues, Chair of the Committee on the Status of Women as well as several committees regarding first year student experiences. 

Dr. Harris's scholarly interests include integrating knowledge and practice in the field practicum setting and interprofessional collaborations in providing services to families and children. She won the Mary Lucretia Creighton Award in 2001 and Outstanding Freshman/Sophomore Advising in 2003.
