The Australian National University (ANU) was established by the Australian Government by an Act of Parliament in 1946 to advance Australia’s store of knowledge, its national identity and its place in the world.
As Australia’s national university, the ANU mission is to tackle issues that require significant research strength and depth both within and between disciplines.
The ANU North American Liaison Office (NALO) is based in the Embassy of Australia, Washington DC, and facilitates the development of research and education partnerships in North America. NALO is a key component of the Australian whole-of-government approach to develop bilateral relations between the United States and Australia.
The ANU currently has ongoing collaborations with over 350 US-based institutions, in disciplines such as physical, environmental and earth sciences, economics, Asian studies, languages and studies in human societies. The ANU is open to new collaborative opportunities, and welcomes the opportunity to discuss such ventures in more detail.
