Asheville Independent Restaurant Association

Founded in 2003, Asheville Independent Restaurants (AIR) began with four restaurants and has grown to more than 140 restaurant members. Today, this eclectic trade association offers a wide variety of educational programming targeted to member needs: food safety, HR issues, management training and marketing, as well as advocacy when needed.

 

Featured regularly in the New York Times, Garden & Gun, Bon Appetite and other media outlets, our members are some of the most popular restaurants in the Southeast. Several chef/owners are recipients/finalists in the coveted James Beard Awards as well.

AIR members also give back. Donating tens of thousands of dollars in food to area non-profits, volunteering on boards and teaching up-and-coming culinarians, AIR supports the Asheville community who in turn supports them.
