Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida

Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida was founded in 1997, under the direction of Russian-born and American Citizen since 2006, Ballet Master and choreographer Vladimir Issaev, in addition to his commitment and duties as Director of Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida. He is also the Artistic and Academic Director of the Ballet School and all educational programs of the organization.

The company made its debut with The Nutcracker in December 1997. As a professional ballet company we currently have 20 company members; all professional dancers, currently paid and under contract for the running season. These dancers make up our Professional Corps.

Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida performs at the greatest state-of-the-art venues in Miami Dade and Broward such as: The Jackie Gleason Theater at the Fillmore in Miami Beach, The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center, the Gusman Theater in Downtown Miami, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and the Parker Playhouse of Fort Lauderdale. Only the best and highest reputable dance companies perform in such theaters.

The Company also believes in community outreach and performs at various community venues and presentations. Some of these include: Dancing for the Community, Aventura Arts Festival, The Spring Concert of Boca Raton and, The Four Season’s Concert for the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Miami Dance Daniel Lewis Sampler, among others.

Our educational programs are held in Arts Ballet Theatre's dance facility and included : The School of Classical Ballet, see description below, Dancing with Disabilities, which promotes dance instruction and performance opportunities for persons with disabilities and Arts Ballet Goes to School, offered in cooperation with Dade County Public Schools, which has grown to include eleven public schools, benefiting more than 6400 students every year, giving a new approach to ballet to children K-12.

The School of Classical Ballet of Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida (also named after our director Vladimir Issaev) is based in North Miami Beach. The school offers professional ballet training to children and adults.

The curriculum and program to follow is such of the Vaganova Method. The Vaganova method is a ballet technique and training system devised by the Russian dancer and pedagogue Agrippina Vaganova (1879–1951). It fuses elements of traditional French style from the romantic era with the athleticism and virtuosity of Italian technique.
